When I watch the ocean, I think about how we’re constantly responding to what’s around us, reading subtle shifts, adjusting our position, and deciding when to move and when to hold, choosing what wave to take and what to let pass. Some days it all flows and you find your place without thinking, moving in rhythm and carried forward as part of something bigger, and other days it’s a fight just to paddle out, where every movement feels resisted, the current pushes back, and nothing quite lands. This piece sits between those two states, reflecting the quiet reality of everyday life where we are always responding to our environment, navigating both ease and resistance, and learning to find our place within forces greater than us.
