I stood there watching him for a moment, board in hand, right on the edge… that familiar hesitation before stepping in. You could feel it without even being in it yourself.
The pause, the questioning, the weight of the cold water and the unknown.
But I’ve come to realise something, even just watching it play out… “you never regret a swim” (My favourite saying). Because the second he steps forward, it all disappeared. The thinking, the holding back, replaced by just being in it.
And maybe that’s the thing… It’s not even about the ocean. It’s about the decision.
